“It seems the roaming provider has changed from Singtel to KPN. As a result, data now routes through the Netherlands, thus higher latency than before (200+ms). It connects to Smart network. There were several occasions when the signal dropped to "E" (Edge), and data could not be used. This might be due to local coverage issues. The latency is still manageable, but the occasional loss of connectivity is a bit inconvenient. I wouldn't recommend it.”

“The speeds are decent, but the IP is from Hong Kong so the latency is quite high. And most importantly, ChatGPT cannot be used unfortunately.”

“1112”

“It works flawlessly! The speed was above 80mbps (download) most of the time which I did not expect for a prepaid eSIM, way better than my expectation. Roaming via Singapore with latency around 100ms.
It connected to Smart network and the coverage was good in Phnom Penh. No issues whatsoever.
Highly recommend this.”

Cambodia's mobile telecommunications sector is served by several major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), each offering a range of services and coverage:
Smart Axiata: A subsidiary of Malaysia's Axiata Group Berhad, Smart Axiata provides extensive 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G-ready services, including voice, SMS, and data, with a significant market share in Cambodia.
Cellcard (CamGSM): As Cambodia's longest-serving and only 100% Cambodian-owned operator, Cellcard offers nationwide coverage with 2G, 3G, and 4G services, catering to over four million customers.
Metfone: Owned by Vietnam's Viettel Group, Metfone provides 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE services, including voice, SMS, and data, with extensive coverage, especially in rural areas.
Seatel (South East Asia Telecom Cambodia Co. Ltd): A Cambodian-owned operator offering 4G LTE services, including voice, SMS, and data, with a focus on providing high-quality digital services nationwide.
CooTel (Xinwei Telecom Enterprise Group): A Chinese-owned operator that introduced 4G technologies to Cambodia, offering voice, SMS, and data services with a focus on high-speed internet connectivity.
In Cambodia, Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) are not prevalent. Most travel eSIMs rely on the infrastructure of the major MNOs listed above to provide services.
Travel eSIM plans that provide a phone number and SMS capability for use in Cambodia are available through several operators. The providers that offer such plans in the dataset are GlobaleSIM, Roamify, Orange Travel, Earth Esim, and TravelKon. All of these plans include inbound and outbound voice calls as well as inbound and outbound SMS, and they cover validity periods ranging from 7 days up to 365 days. Prices begin around $4 for a 1‑GB 7‑day package and rise to about $105 for a 20‑GB 365‑day plan, with most mid‑range options in the $20‑$80 range.
Every available plan uses a foreign dialing code rather than Cambodia’s own +855. The majority employ the United States +1 code, while a few use the French +33 code. Because the number is not local, callers may incur international fees when contacting Cambodian contacts who use the native +855 network; however, inbound international calls receive a local Cambodian phone number in the plan’s display, and SMS messages are fully supported from the foreign number set up for the travel eSIM.
