“I made the mistake of not taking into account the previous bad reviews…. Don’t make the same mistake as me.

DO NOT BUY FROM ESIM!

I could not activate the sim due to error and their support is hopeless. I did not get a response after 48 hours. I already completed my travel and left the country and still no response. ”

GoMoWorld Oman

“Don't waste your money - Gomoworld in Oman barely worked, and when it did, it was either "E" or "H+" (which is so slow it might as well not work). Was also disappointed to find that the hotspot wasn't working, though that might be because I have a Google phone? In any event, we gave up and purchased a SIM from another company and had 5G the whole trip with them.”

Oman Travel eSIM FAQ

Everything you need to know about using eSIMs in Oman

How many travel eSIM brands (providers) are available for use in Oman, and how many prepaid data plans are there?

There are more than 210 travel eSIM brands available for use in Oman, and there are over 9, 000 prepaid data plans. This wide variety makes it easy for travelers to find an eSIM that suits their needs.

Are there any unlimited data eSIM plans available for Oman?

Yes, there are unlimited data eSIM plans for Oman. Providers such as abesteSIM, Roamify, Yesim, and Earth Esim offer unlimited data options that work on 5G networks. All these plans allow tethering, although the speed may be throttled; Earth Esim additionally limits the speed to 1 Mbps. The price range for these unlimited data plans varies from approximately $6.33 to $223.96 USD, giving travelers flexibility to choose a plan that fits their budget and desired validity period.

What are the major mobile networks available for a travel eSIM in Oman?

In Oman, the primary Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) providing mobile services are:

Omantel: The state-owned telecommunications company offering a comprehensive range of mobile services, including voice, data, and international roaming.
Ooredoo Oman: A subsidiary of the Qatari Ooredoo Group, providing mobile voice and data services, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies.
Vodafone Oman: A subsidiary of the global Vodafone Group, offering mobile plans, data services, and international calling options.

Additionally, Oman hosts several Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) that lease access from major carriers to offer mobile services. Notable MVNOs include:

Renna Mobile: The first MVNO established in Oman, operating under Omantel's network and providing a variety of prepaid plans.
Red Bull Mobile Oman: Launched in 2019, targeting the youth demographic with services operating on Omantel's network.

It's important to note that most travel eSIMs rely on the infrastructure of MNOs rather than MVNOs.

Can I get a travel eSIM with a phone number and SMS for Oman?

Yes, you can purchase a travel eSIM that includes a phone number and SMS support for use in Oman. Providers that offer such plans include GlobaleSIM, JamboSim, ESIM.DOG, Roamify, Orange Travel and RedEx eSIM. Examples include GlobaleSIM, which provides inbound/outbound voice with inbound SMS, JamboSim which offers outbound voice and SMS, and RedEx eSIM which delivers both inbound and outbound voice and SMS. Prices and validity periods differ widely, starting around $4.00 for a 1 GB, 7‑day plan and extending to about $105.00 for a 20 GB, 365‑day plan.
