I made the mistake of not taking into account the previous bad reviews…. Don’t make the same mistake as me.
DO NOT BUY FROM ESIM!
I could not activate the sim due to error and their support is hopeless. I did not get a response after 48 hours. I already completed my travel and left the country and still no response.
Don't waste your money - Gomoworld in Oman barely worked, and when it did, it was either "E" or "H+" (which is so slow it might as well not work). Was also disappointed to find that the hotspot wasn't working, though that might be because I have a Google phone? In any event, we gave up and purchased a SIM from another company and had 5G the whole trip with them.
Oman offers more than 90 different travel eSIM providers and more than 2 200 prepaid data plans. With such a broad selection, there is a wide variety of options, making it easy for travelers to find an eSIM that suits their needs.
Unlimited data eSIM plans are available for Oman from several providers. Roamify offers unlimited data for 1‑30 days at prices ranging from $4.50 to $90.00 and permits tethering, although speed may be throttled. Truely provides unlimited coverage for 1‑30 days between $6.32 and $161.87, with tethering allowed and potential speed throttling. Yoho Mobile’s unlimited plans run 1‑30 days and cost between $7.47 and $247.07; they also allow tethering, may be throttled, and impose a 5 Mbps speed limit. Yesim offers unlimited data for 7‑30 days, with prices from $33.89 to $64.27, permitting tethering and also allowing for possible throttling. The price range for unlimited options spans from about $4.50 up to $247.07, depending on the provider and validity period.
In Oman, the primary Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) providing mobile services are:
Omantel: The state-owned telecommunications company offering a comprehensive range of mobile services, including voice, data, and international roaming.
Ooredoo Oman: A subsidiary of the Qatari Ooredoo Group, providing mobile voice and data services, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies.
Vodafone Oman: A subsidiary of the global Vodafone Group, offering mobile plans, data services, and international calling options.
Additionally, Oman hosts several Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) that lease access from major carriers to offer mobile services. Notable MVNOs include:
Renna Mobile: The first MVNO established in Oman, operating under Omantel's network and providing a variety of prepaid plans.
Red Bull Mobile Oman: Launched in 2019, targeting the youth demographic with services operating on Omantel's network.
It's important to note that most travel eSIMs rely on the infrastructure of MNOs rather than MVNOs.
