Airalo does not provide a truly unlimited high‑speed data eSIM for India. The plans that carry the “Unlimited” name actually grant a 3GB/day allowance, after which the connection is throttled to 1000kbps.

Instead, Airalo offers fixed‑data options that may better suit heavy users. For example, the Asialink 100 GB plan is valid for 180 days and costs $89.00 USD, while a 50 GB plan is available for 30 days at $59.00 USD. A smaller 20 GB plan is also offered for 15 days at $36.50 USD. These fixed‑data plans allow continuous high‑speed access up to the specified data limit and can be more cost effective for travelers who need a large amount of data.

Airalo does not provide an India eSIM that includes a phone number or SMS capability. All of Airalo’s India plans are data‑only, so you will not have any inbound or outbound voice or text features through a local number.

Travelers who need to communicate can still use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage over the data connection, but some destinations block or limit these services. It is a good idea to confirm that the apps you rely on work in India before buying an eSIM plan.
