eSIMCard eSIM Data Plans for Central America

eSIMCard does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Central America. The plans that carry the word “Unlimited” in their name give only 1GB of high‑speed data and, once that amount is reached, the speed is throttled to either 512kbps or 2000kbps.

If travelers need more data, eSIMCard offers fixed‑data options. For example, a 100GB plan is available for 30 days at $325.55, and a 50GB plan is available for 30 days at $179.55. These higher‑allowance plans maintain regular speeds and can be more cost‑effective for most users while still covering Central American countries such as Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and El Salvador.

eSIMCard does not offer an eSIM with a local phone number or SMS capability for Central America. The provider’s Central American plans are strictly data‑only, so travelers cannot receive or send traditional SMS or place/receive calls through the eSIM. However, VoIP services such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage can be used over the data connection to make calls and send messages.

eSIMCard offers several Central American‑focused plans. The eSIM Data For in Global Max plan covers Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama and Honduras, as does the eSIM Data For in Latin America plan. The eSIM, , , , Global, Unthrottled plan covers Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador, but does not include Panama.
