Lotso Travel eSIM Data Plans for Central America

Lotso Travel does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Central America. The plans that carry the word “Unlimited” in their name actually have a fixed data cap that is expressed as a daily allowance (for example, 1 GB/day or 2 GB/day) and a validity period (such as 15 days). Once the daily allowance is reached, the speed is throttled to 128 kbps, so the data is not unlimited at full speed.

Travelers who need a large amount of high‑speed data can choose from Lotso Travel’s fixed data plans that cover Central America, such as the 30 GB Unlimited eSIM for 15 days, which offers 2 GB/day at full speed before throttling, or the 60 GB Unlimited eSIM for 30 days, which also provides 2 GB/day at full speed before the speed reduction. These plans are the largest options available and may be more cost‑effective for most users unless extremely heavy data consumption is required.

Lotso Travel does not sell a Central America eSIM that includes a phone number with voice or SMS services. Only data‑only plans are available for the region. Travelers who need to make calls or send messages can use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage over the data connection, but they should confirm that these services are accessible in the specific countries they plan to visit, as some destinations may restrict or block certain applications.

Lotso Travel offers three eSIM plans that include Central American coverage. The Latin America – plan provides service in Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador. The South America 2 – Unlimited eSIM plan covers Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador. The Global eSIM plan includes all five Central American countries: Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador. Each plan may also serve other regions, but the highlighted countries above are the only Central American destinations covered by the respective Lotso Travel plans.
