Tourist eSIM eSIM Data Plans for Central America

Tourist eSIM does not provide a genuinely unlimited high‑speed data plan for Central America. The plans marketed as “Unlimited” actually include a daily data allowance, such as 3GB/day or 2GB/day, after which the speed is throttled to 1000kbps or 2000kbps respectively.

For travelers who need more data without those daily limits, Tourist eSIM offers fixed‑data plans such as the 100GB plan valid for 31 days or the 80GB plan valid for 365 days, which cover Central American countries like Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador. These fixed‑data plans can be more cost‑effective for heavy data users.

Tourist eSIM does not provide a Central America eSIM that includes a phone number or SMS capability. All of the provider’s plans for Central America are data‑only.

While a phone number or SMS is unavailable, travelers can still use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage over the data connection for voice and text communication. Some destinations may block or restrict certain apps, so it is advisable to verify whether the services needed are accessible in Central America before purchasing a plan.
