eSIMCard eSIM Data Plans for East Asia

eSIMCard does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for East Asia. The plans that carry the name “Unlimited” actually allow only 1GB of high‑speed data per day; once that limit is reached the speed is reduced to 500 kbps.

For travelers who need more data, eSIMCard offers fixed‑data options such as a 100GB plan that is valid for 90 days or a 100GB plan that is valid for 180 days, both covering the East Asia countries of Hong Kong, South Korea, Macau, and Taiwan as well as additional nearby nations. These fixed plans can be more cost‑effective for heavy data users.

eSIMCard does not provide East Asia eSIM plans that include a phone number or SMS capability. Only data‑only eSIMs are offered for the region.

Travelers can use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage over the data connection for calls and messaging, which eliminates the need for a local phone number.

eSIMCard’s East Asia eSIM line includes several plans, each listing a subset of the region’s countries: the “eSIM Data For in Asia” plan covers Hong Kong, South Korea, Macau and Taiwan; the “eSIM, , , Global (Lite), Unthrottled” plan includes China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macau and Taiwan; “Global Max Data for” offers China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Macau and Taiwan; “Unlimited eSIM Data For in Global” covers China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macau and Taiwan; the “eSIM, , , Global, Unthrottled” plan (in its two listings) provides China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan in one case, and China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Macau and Taiwan in the other; and the “eSIM Data For in Europe” plan reaches China, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea. All of these plans collectively give coverage across the East Asian countries of China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Macau and Mongolia.
