AirPlans eSIM Data Plans for North America

AirPlans does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for North America. Every listed “Unlimited” plan actually has a hard data cap, ranging from 1GB to 90GB, and after that cap is reached the connection speed is reduced to 512kbps, 1280kbps, or 2050kbps depending on the specific plan.

Travelers can choose from several fixed data options, such as the North America Unlimited 5 Days plan that gives 1GB per day for 5 days, or the North America Premium Unlimited 15 Days plan offering 90GB for 15 days. These plans avoid a hard expiry on the data itself but they still have a maximum data allowance, so they are more cost‑effective for typical use but are not truly unlimited.

AirPlans does not provide North America eSIMs with a local phone number or SMS capability. All North America plans sold by AirPlans are data‑only and do not include inbound or outbound voice or text services. Travelers who need to communicate while abroad can use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage over the data connection, though availability of some services may be restricted in certain destinations, so it is advisable to confirm app accessibility before purchasing.

The Global (120 + areas) plan also includes Canada, Mexico and the United States of America, and extends to many other regions worldwide. The Global Unlimited plan likewise covers Canada, Mexico and the United States of America and offers additional coverage in several other countries. The Global Light plan covers Canada and the United States of America, but does not extend to Mexico. All of these plans cover the approved North American countries of Canada, Mexico and the United States of America; no other approved territories such as Bermuda, Greenland, Saint Pierre and Miquelon or the US Minor Outlying Islands are listed in the current plans.
