Had to buy another eSIM from a different provider for more $$.

It didn't work for me because the app limits usage to specified phone models. I tried to use it on an Infinix Smart 8 and it's not compatible, then on a Samsung A34 and still not compatible. I recommend expanding the list of models with access to eSIM so it can be more widely used

Bought an e-sim to use in Cuba but it doesn’t work. After connecring to a wifi to install it i get a message thaf the QR code i received ia not valid. The app also does not seem to work here. Be careful!

Writing this with review in Nov 2024, using GlobaleSIM on my iPhone. After successfully testing Gigsky I went with the cheapest price/GB. It worked well in the cities I visited: Baracoa, ImÃas, San Antonio, Guantánamo.
I noticed two differences, which indicate having both eSIMs improved my connectivity:
1. The phone shows 4G (GlobaleSIM) instead of LTE (Gigsky).
2. In one remote area with no GlobaleSIM connection I still had network with Gigsky.
In my case the payment via Paypal got stuck, but I assume this was a one-off. The GlobaleSIM support was super friendly and helpful during the extra week this took.

Writing this review in Nov 2024 using a GigSky esim on my iPhone. It has worked well in Guantánamo, ImÃas, and right now in Baracoa. After changing my location I often have to enable/disable Flight Mode to get a working internet connection (LTE symbol). This might be a quirk of the cuban cellular network.

Worst eSim we've ever used and we have travelled a lot and used many different eSims around the world. This was a complete waste of money. Even thought we seemed to be connected to LTE most of the time we couldn't actually download anything, send messages, or surf the web at all.
We couldn't even download the mandatory update to the GigSky app because the connection didn't actually work.
There are more than 30 travel eSIM providers and over 200 prepaid data plans available for use in Cuba. With this wide variety of options, travelers can easily find an eSIM that fits their needs.
Yesim offers an unlimited data eSIM for Cuba, valid for 1 to 7 days. The plan allows tethering and uses 3G and LTE networks, although speeds may be throttled for heavy usage. Prices for this unlimited plan range from about $23.29 to $150.23 USD, depending on the chosen validity period. No other providers in the database list an unlimited data option for Cuba at this time.
Cuba does not have Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs); therefore, all mobile services are provided directly by ETECSA.
Travel eSIM plans that include a phone number and support for SMS are available for Cuba. The plans listed for Cuba are offered by GlobaleSIM and Roamify. These plans provide voice capabilities (both inbound and outbound for GlobaleSIM and inbound/outbound for Roamify), and support SMS for inbound use on all GlobaleSIM plans and both inbound and outbound SMS with Roamify. The GlobaleSIM plans use the dialing code +1, which is considered a local code for Cuba according to the dataset, giving travellers a local Cuban phone number. In contrast, Roamify’s plan uses the dialing code +33, meaning the phone number is not a local Cuban number but is still available for calls and messaging. Prices for GlobaleSIM plans range from $14.00 USD for 1 GB over 7 days to $86.00 USD for 15 GB over 30 days, while Roamify’s 1 GB 30‑day plan is priced at $30.00 USD. Both providers give validity periods from a week to a month, depending on the data amount chosen.
