“Waste of money, the eSIM was denied connection to Cubacel. Had to buy another eSIM from a different provider for more $$.”

“It didn't work for me because the app limits usage to specified phone models. I tried to use it on an Infinix Smart 8 and it's not compatible, then on a Samsung A34 and still not compatible. I recommend expanding the list of models with access to eSIM so it can be more widely used”

“Súper ”

“Worked at Varadero airport then in Havana no issues. Be patient Cuba's network isn't the best”

“Useless. Did not work. Do not buy. How do I get a refund?”

“Bought an e-sim to use in Cuba but it doesn’t work. After connecring to a wifi to install it i get a message thaf the QR code i received ia not valid. The app also does not seem to work here. Be careful!”

“Writing this with review in Nov 2024, using GlobaleSIM on my iPhone. After successfully testing Gigsky I went with the cheapest price/GB. It worked well in the cities I visited: Baracoa, Imías, San Antonio, Guantánamo.
I noticed two differences, which indicate having both eSIMs improved my connectivity:
1. The phone shows 4G (GlobaleSIM) instead of LTE (Gigsky).
2. In one remote area with no GlobaleSIM connection I still had network with Gigsky.
In my case the payment via Paypal got stuck, but I assume this was a one-off. The GlobaleSIM support was super friendly and helpful during the extra week this took.”

“Writing this review in Nov 2024 using a GigSky esim on my iPhone. It has worked well in Guantánamo, Imías, and right now in Baracoa. After changing my location I often have to enable/disable Flight Mode to get a working internet connection (LTE symbol). This might be a quirk of the cuban cellular network.”

“Worst eSim we've ever used and we have travelled a lot and used many different eSims around the world. This was a complete waste of money. Even thought we seemed to be connected to LTE most of the time we couldn't actually download anything, send messages, or surf the web at all.
We couldn't even download the mandatory update to the GigSky app because the connection didn't actually work.”

Yes, some eSIM providers do offer unlimited data plans for travel in Cuba. One such provider is Yesim, whose unlimited data plans are valid for between 1 and 7 days and are priced between about $53 and $171 USD. The plan allows tethering, but the carrier notes that speed can be throttled, so while data is unlimited, bandwidth may be limited during peak usage periods. If an unlimited plan is not required, travelers can estimate their data needs based on usual internet activities and pick a plan with enough data to cover those activities comfortably.
Cuba does not have Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs); therefore, all mobile services are provided directly by ETECSA.
Yes, travel eSIM plans that include a phone number and SMS are available for Cuba. GlobaleSIM offers several options, ranging from 1 GB for 7 days at $14.00 to 15 GB for 30 days at $100.00, with a local Cuban phone number that can receive voice calls and inbound SMS and is able to make outbound voice calls. Roamify and TravelKon both provide plans with a phone number that uses the dialing code +33; these allow inbound and outbound voice calls and both inbound and outbound SMS. These numbers come from foreign networks and therefore are not local Cuban numbers. Prices for these foreign‑number packages start around $30 for 30 days of data, while validity periods for all three providers range from 7 to 30 days.
