Had to buy another eSIM from a different provider for more $$.

It didn't work for me because the app limits usage to specified phone models. I tried to use it on an Infinix Smart 8 and it's not compatible, then on a Samsung A34 and still not compatible. I recommend expanding the list of models with access to eSIM so it can be more widely used

Bought an e-sim to use in Cuba but it doesn’t work. After connecring to a wifi to install it i get a message thaf the QR code i received ia not valid. The app also does not seem to work here. Be careful!

Writing this with review in Nov 2024, using GlobaleSIM on my iPhone. After successfully testing Gigsky I went with the cheapest price/GB. It worked well in the cities I visited: Baracoa, Imías, San Antonio, Guantánamo.
I noticed two differences, which indicate having both eSIMs improved my connectivity:
1. The phone shows 4G (GlobaleSIM) instead of LTE (Gigsky).
2. In one remote area with no GlobaleSIM connection I still had network with Gigsky.
In my case the payment via Paypal got stuck, but I assume this was a one-off. The GlobaleSIM support was super friendly and helpful during the extra week this took.

Writing this review in Nov 2024 using a GigSky esim on my iPhone. It has worked well in Guantánamo, Imías, and right now in Baracoa. After changing my location I often have to enable/disable Flight Mode to get a working internet connection (LTE symbol). This might be a quirk of the cuban cellular network.

Worst eSim we've ever used and we have travelled a lot and used many different eSims around the world. This was a complete waste of money. Even thought we seemed to be connected to LTE most of the time we couldn't actually download anything, send messages, or surf the web at all.
We couldn't even download the mandatory update to the GigSky app because the connection didn't actually work.
There are more than 30 travel eSIM providers and over 200 prepaid data plans available for use in Cuba. With this wide variety of options, travelers can easily find an eSIM that fits their needs.
Yes, there is an unlimited data eSIM plan for Cuba offered by Yesim. The plan is available in 1‑ to 7‑day validity periods and is priced between $23.27 and $150.09 USD. All data can be used for internet activities and tethering is permitted, although the speed may be throttled, especially during peak usage. The plan uses 3G and LTE networks. If you prefer a plan with a defined data cap, there are other options available, but for unlimited usage Yesim’s offering is the only one listed at present.
Cuba does not have Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs); therefore, all mobile services are provided directly by ETECSA.
Yes, several providers offer travel eSIMs for Cuba that include a phone number and SMS capability. GlobaleSIM supplies a local Cuban number with the standard dialing code +1 and allows inbound and outbound voice calls as well as inbound SMS; their plans range from 1 GB to 15 GB and last from 7 days to 30 days, with prices starting at $14.00 USD. Roamify also provides a phone number, this time with the French dialing code +33, and supports inbound and outbound voice and SMS; its 1 GB plan is available for 30 days at $30.00 USD. Travelers can therefore obtain a travel eSIM for Cuba that includes both a phone number and SMS, though the number will be local with GlobaleSIM and foreign with Roamify.
