Lumbus eSIM Data Plans for Ethiopia

Lumbus does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Ethiopia. The plans that carry the name “Ethiopia Unlimited” give 3GB of high‑speed data each day; after that daily allowance the speed is reduced to 1000kbps, so the data is capped and throttled.

For travelers who need more data, Lumbus offers fixed data plans such as the Ethiopia 20GB 30Days plan and the Ethiopia 10GB 30Days plan. These plans give larger data allowances over a set period without a daily cap and can be more cost‑effective for heavy data users.

Lumbus does not provide an eSIM for Ethiopia that includes a phone number or the ability to send or receive SMS. Travelers can only purchase a data‑only eSIM from the provider. If a telephone number or standard text messaging is needed, users should rely on VoIP and messaging applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection. However, the availability of these apps can vary, so it is wise to check that the services you require work in Ethiopia before buying.

Lumbus offers 12 single‑country plans for Ethiopia and no multi‑country plans. The plans range from $6.99 to $340.99 and provide between 1 GB and 20 GB of data, with validity periods from 1 to 30 days. Among these, four plans feature a daily data cap, limiting the amount of data that can be used each day, while eight plans offer a fixed data amount that can be used at any time during the validity period. No multi‑country options are available.
