merdata eSIM Data Plans for Kenya

Merdata does not provide an unlimited data eSIM for Kenya; the largest data allowances listed are 20GB. For example, the “eSIM Kenya 20 GB 30 days” plan includes 20GB of high‑speed data usable for 30 days and costs $63.15 USD, while the “eSIM Global (117 countries) 20 GB 90 days” and “eSIM Africa (21 countries) 20 GB 30 days” offers the same 20GB cap over longer or broader validity periods at $105.32 USD. Other fixed data plans are available, such as the “eSIM Kenya 10 GB 30 days” for $31.52 USD, which also gives a 10GB allowance for 30 days.

Choosing one of these fixed data plans can be more cost‑effective for most travelers, unless the user is an extremely heavy data consumer. The plans listed are all fixed bundles; they do not move into a pay‑as‑you‑go or unlimited model.

Merdata does not provide an eSIM with a local phone number or SMS capability for Kenya. Only data‑only eSIM plans are available from this provider in that destination. Travelers who want to make calls or send messages can use popular VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage over the data connection, though it is advisable to check that these services are accessible in Kenya before purchasing.

Merdata offers a total of 16 single‑country data plans for Kenya, plus another 16 multi‑country plans that include Kenya as part of a broader coverage zone. The plans cover a price range from about $1.97 to $103.49, a data cap range from 100 MB up to 20 GB, and validity periods that go from just one day to a full 365‑day entitlement. Some plans allocate a fixed amount of data for the whole period, while others impose a daily data cap that is reset each day, giving customers flexibility to choose the style that best matches their usage patterns.
