Globie eSIM Data Plans for Malawi

Globie does not provide a true unlimited data eSIM for Malawi. The plans that contain “Unlimited” in the name, such as “Malawi Unlimited for 5 days” to “Malawi Unlimited for 30 days, ” actually give 3 GB per day and impose a reduced speed of 1000 kbps once that daily amount is reached, so the data is not unrestricted.

If a traveler needs a large amount of data without daily limits, Globie offers fixed‑data plans such as the 20 GB plan for 30 days or the 10 GB plan for 30 days, which deliver the full data allowance for the full validity period. These alternatives can be more cost‑effective for most users unless they are extremely heavy data consumers.

Globie does not provide an eSIM for Malawi that includes a local phone number or SMS capability. Only data‑only plans are offered for Malawi, so travelers cannot receive or send standard phone calls or text messages with a local number through Globie’s eSIM.

However, a data connection can support VoIP services such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage. Those apps can be used for calls and messaging over the data link, but some destinations may block or restrict certain services, so it is wise to confirm that the apps you need work in Malawi before purchasing a plan.

Globie offers 11 single‑country plans and 8 multi‑country plans for Malawi. Prices range from approximately $7.99 to $757.99, and data caps span from 1 GB to 20 GB with validity periods of 5 to 30 days. Some plans contain a fixed data amount, while others provide daily data limits; tethering is permitted and a reduced speed option of 512 is available on certain packages.
