RoamGo eSIM Data Plans for Malawi

RoamGo does not provide a truly unlimited high‑speed data plan for Malawi. All listed RoamGo plans for Malawi set a hard limit – either a daily allowance such as 1 GB/day or 2 GB/day, or a total volume such as 20 GB. Plans with the word “Unlimited” in their name (for example, Global Unlimited 1 GB/day or Global Unlimited 2 GB/day) actually give 1 GB or 2 GB of high‑speed data each day and then switch to a throttled 384 kbps speed after that amount is reached.

If a traveler needs a larger high‑speed data allowance, fixed data plans such as the 20 GB for 30 days offer a larger volume of data, though they expire after the set validity period. These fixed plans can be more cost‑effective for moderate data use.

RoamGo does not provide an eSIM for Malawi that includes a phone number or SMS functionality. The plans sold by RoamGo for Malawi are data‑only, so users do not receive a local number and cannot send or receive standard SMS. Travelers can use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection; however, availability of these services can vary, so it is advisable to confirm that the required apps work in Malawi before purchasing a data plan.

RoamGo offers 46 single country plans and 61 multi country plans for Malawi, giving travelers a total of 107 data options in this destination. The plans are split into daily data cap and fixed data cap styles; daily plans give a set amount of data that renews each day, while fixed plans provide a fixed data allowance for the entire validity period. Prices for these plans range from about $4.26 up to $891.00, and the data caps available span from 500 MB to 20 GB. Some plans include features such as tethering and optional reduced speed tiers of 512, 1000, or 384 kbit/s.
