Stixrs eSIM Data Plans for Malawi

Stixrs does not provide a truly unlimited high‑speed data eSIM for Malawi. The plans that carry the word “Unlimited” in their name actually give 3 GB of high‑speed data per day and, once that limit is reached, the speed is throttled to 1000 kbps. These are fixed data plans, not unlimited ones.

Travelers who need a high data allowance can choose from Stixrs’ fixed data plans. For example, the “Malawi Standard data eSIM 50 GB 90 days” offers 50 GB of high‑speed data for 90 days, while the 20 GB and 10 GB 30‑day options provide 20 GB and 10 GB respectively. These plans can be more cost‑effective for most users compared to the limited‑speed “Unlimited” options.

Stixrs does not provide any eSIM plans for Malawi that include a local phone number or SMS capability. All available plans from the provider are data‑only, so travelers will need to rely on internet‑based services for voice and text. VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage can usually be used over the data connection, but some destinations may block or restrict access to particular apps, so users should verify that the services they depend on are reachable in Malawi before purchasing a plan.

Stixrs provides 10 single‑country data plans for Malawi, and 5 multi‑country plans that include Malawi. Prices range from about $5 to $340, with data caps between 1 GB and 50 GB. Among the plans, some offer a fixed data amount while others cap usage on a daily basis, allowing travelers to choose either a set amount of data for the entire validity or a daily allowance that resets each day.
