Skratch does not offer an unlimited data eSIM for Africa. For travelers who need a larger data allowance, Skratch provides fixed data plans such as the Africa 5GB 30d plan priced at $39.99 USD and the Africa 3GB 30d plan priced at $28.99 USD. These plans have a hard data cap that must be used within their validity period, so they are best suited to users whose data usage is predictable. If a traveler expects very high usage, a fixed plan can be more cost‑effective than using Pay‑as‑you‑go plans, which are not listed for Africa.
Skratch does not provide an eSIM with a phone number or SMS capability for use in Africa. Travelers with a Skratch plan will have only a data-only connection.
When traveling in Africa, a data‑only eSIM can be paired with VoIP apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage to make calls and send messages. However, some destinations may block or limit access to certain apps or VoIP services, so it is advisable to confirm that the applications you rely on are available before purchasing a plan.
The Africa 7d plan from Skratch covers Burkina Faso, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea‑Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Madagascar, Mali, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Réunion, Seychelles, Sudan, Senegal, Eswatini (Swaziland), Chad, Tunisia, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, and Zambia.
