AirPlans for Balkans FAQ
Does AirPlans offer unlimited data eSIM for Balkans?
AirPlans does not supply a true unlimited‑data eSIM for the Balkans. All listed plans have a specified data cap; the packages branded “Balkans Unlimited” offer 1 GB (per day for the multi‑day options) and throttle speed to 512 kbps or 1280 kbps after the limit is reached. Travelers who need a larger data allowance can choose a fixed‑data plan such as the 100 GB 30 days or 50 GB 30 days bundles, which provide a high amount of high‑speed data without throttling until the data is used up. Selecting a fixed‑data plan is usually more cost‑effective unless the user consumes an extremely large amount of data.
Does AirPlans offer Balkans eSIM with phone number and SMS?
AirPlans does not provide a Balkans eSIM that includes a phone number or SMS capability. The provider offers only data‑only plans for the Balkans. Travelers who need voice or text services can use popular VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection, but they should verify that these apps are accessible in the specific Balkan destination before purchasing, as some locations may block or restrict certain services.
What countries are covered by AirPlans's eSIM plans in Balkans?
The “Balkans” and “Balkans Unlimited” plans cover Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. The “Global (120+ areas)” plan additionally includes Kosovo, while the “Global Unlimited” plan covers the same Balkans countries as the Balkans plans but does not include Kosovo.
