“I like esimdb and use it for all my esims worldwide, for a long time now. I do wish the navigation would become easier. So in the main overview I want to see details of 1 esim, and not go to the overview of the provider where I need to manually find the esim I saw in the overview.
Also I wish I could filter by provider (which doesn't always match the provider that you actually get). Everything else is great!
Airgun shows it will have A1 as provider but it is Yettel.”
“The eSIM Europe Unlimited Data didn’t work in Serbia — while it worked fine in other EU countries (Switzerland, Austria, and Germany).
I opened a ticket a week ago and still haven’t received any help.
Avoid this company’s SIMs. If they fail, good luck getting help — you’ll end up buying a new one somewhere else.”
“Used their Balkan special.
Very slow in Montenegro, despite their full speed claim.
Contacted support and they are aware of the issue.”
“Next I'd think twice before I use the cheapest option. I activated my SIM but wasn't able to use it. I tried everything that came to my mind for 2-3 hours and couldn't make it work.
The support couldn't provide me with a solution either, so I was without data all day. At the end of my trip, on my way back to Bulgaria, I gave it another try, just before I crossed the border, and it suddenly worked.
I got a message from the support on the next day with a suggestion and a possible solution, but it was too late, 'cause I was in Serbia only for a few hours and that's when I needed my data.
I'm definitely not happy with the experience.”
“I bought Airhub eSIM for USA & Albania & my experience is good, in starting I faced minor challenges to active Albania eSIM but Airhub support team guide me and i could use it.
There was additional benefit with Airhub that I asked to extend my plan validity & they gimme additional off there, i used coupon "foryou".
Thanks esimdb & airhub.”
“Supported countries according to their own search doesn't match the actually supported countries, can't use the eSIM in Bosnia at all.”
“Superb and very fast communication via email. More than happy with their service. Initially, thought that my eSim was given for my home country (as I scanned the QR before I left). I was re-assured that it will work perfectly when I arrive to my destination (Russia) 10 days later - and indeed it did.”
“Nice”
“Activation is not straightforward, need to scan qr code.
After eSIM is downloaded and activated, no internet (writing this review after 2 hours trying to make it work). I have contacted carrier, but still no answer. Purchased 20 GB plan.
My previous experience with esimdb and other carriers was much better.
Not sure if I'll make it work, after all discounts I've paid ~13 EUR for 20GB plan.”
Everything you need to know about using eSIMs in Balkans
There are over 110 travel eSIM providers and over 3 900 prepaid data plans available for use in the Balkans. Because of the wide variety of options, travelers can easily find an eSIM that suits their needs.
Yes, several eSIM providers offer unlimited data plans that can be used in the Balkans. Firsty offers a 1‑day unlimited plan priced at $0.00 USD, though it comes with ads and a very low speed limit of 256 kbps. Other providers such as abesteSIM, Yoho Mobile, Roamify, MicroEsim and Yesim provide unlimited data for validities ranging from 1 to 25 days, all with potential speed throttling and a typical speed cap of about 5 Mbps. The price of these unlimited options varies from as low as $3.05 USD up to around $53.09 USD, giving travelers flexibility to choose a plan that fits their budget and data usage needs.
Travel eSIMs that include a phone number and SMS are available for the Balkans, offered by providers such as GlobaleSIM, Roamify, Orange Travel, MoreMins eSIM and TravelKon. All of these plans use phone numbers from foreign dialing codes—most commonly +1 (U.S./Canada), +33 (France) or +44 (United Kingdom)—so the numbers are not local Balkans numbers. They still provide voice calling (inbound and outbound on most plans) and SMS (inbound on every plan, with outbound SMS available on most Roamify, Orange Travel, MoreMins and TravelKon plans).
Prices for these travel eSIMs start around $5.50 USD, with validity periods ranging from 7 days up to 365 days, depending on the data amount and the provider’s offering. These options give travelers a single phone number that can be used for calls and text messages while traveling in Balkan countries, even though the number itself originates from a different country.
