Airalo eSIM Data Plans for East Asia

Airalo does not provide a truly unlimited high‑speed eSIM plan for East Asia. The plans branded “Unlimited” offer 3GB of high‑speed data per day and throttle speed to 1 Mbps after that daily limit is reached. If you need more data, Airalo offers several fixed data plans that provide larger allowances: for example, Asialink – 100GB for 180 days at $89.00, or Asialink – 50GB for 30 days at $59.00, both of which allow uninterrupted 5G speed until the data cap is used. These fixed data plans are often more cost‑effective unless you expect very heavy data usage that would exceed the daily limits of the “Unlimited” branding.

Airalo does not offer an East Asia eSIM plan that includes a phone number or SMS capability. All East Asia eSIMs from Airalo are data‑only plans; travelers cannot receive or send standard SMS or make regular voice calls through a native phone number. However, the data connection can support VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage for voice and messaging use. Travelers should verify that the specific VoIP services they rely on are accessible and not blocked in their destination before purchasing a plan.

Airalo provides several eSIM options that include coverage in East Asia. The Asialink plan lists China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macau and Taiwan as its East Asian countries; the Discover and Discover + plans add Mongolia to that same base list, offering an extended regional offering. The Discover‑Unlimited tier likewise covers China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Taiwan and Mongolia. Each of these plans is available through Airalo’s platform and delivers connectivity throughout the six or seven East Asian nations specified above.
