Sim Local eSIM Data Plans for North America

Sim Local does not offer a true unlimited data eSIM plan for North America. All of its plans for Canada and the United States have fixed high‑speed data caps, such as the 20 GB 31‑day plan or the 10 GB 30‑day plan, and even the plan titled “Canada & Mexico Unlimited” provides only 10 GB per day before the speed is reduced. These plans with a name that includes “Unlimited” should be understood as having daily or fixed limits rather than providing unlimited high‑speed data. Travelers who need more data may choose one of the fixed‑data options, which can be more cost‑effective unless the user is an extremely heavy data consumer.

Sim Local’s North America eSIM plans do not provide a local phone number or any SMS capability. The provider offers only data‑only eSIMs for the region, so travelers cannot receive calls or text messages on the SIM. However, because the plans include data, popular VoIP services such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage can be used for voice calls and messaging over the data connection.

Sim Local offers several eSIM plans that cover North America. The Global plan includes Canada, Greenland, Mexico and the United States of America; the World plan covers Canada, Mexico and the United States of America; the Canada & Mexico plan is limited to Canada and Mexico; the North America plan is available for Canada and the United States of America; and the Orange Holiday World plan likewise covers Canada, Mexico and the United States of America (while also providing coverage beyond North America).
