eSIMCard eSIM Data Plans for South America

eSIMCard does not provide a true unlimited data eSIM for South America. Plans that carry “Unlimited” in the name actually include a 1GB cap per day (or 1GB total for a one‑day plan) and throttle speeds to 500kbps once the limit is reached.

Travelers can instead select fixed data plans that offer larger, unthrottled allowances. For instance, eSIMCard offers a 50GB data plan valid for 30 days in South America, and a 100GB plan valid for 180 days that remains unthrottled. These fixed plans can be more cost‑effective for users who need consistent high‑speed data beyond the limited daily allowance.

eSIMCard does not offer South America eSIM plans that include a local phone number or SMS capability. The provider only sells data‑only eSIMs for that region. Travelers can still use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage over the data connection, but they will not receive or send SMS through a traditional phone network.

South American coverage includes Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
