“Payment process went smoothly. No registration is a bliss. However, avoid this carrier if your destination is the Brazilian Northeast coast. After installation, I couldn't get service so activation never happened. After 24h actively speaking to their customer service via telegram, I have yet to receive my refund. The support keeps asking irrelevant questions that had been answered in my initial email.”
“Works, but slow. Seems to only work on the Movistar network.
In Buenos Aires, I got OK 4g service. But everywhere else, including Mar del Plata and around, it degraded to intermittent 3g service, often showing a signal, but unable to send and receive data of any kind. In a country that depends on QR code payments etc., this was a letdown.
Pick a different eSim if you're going to be in Argentina.”
“Looks good ... but the website has no way to buy !!!
I've been trying for 10 minutes and still can't find a way.”
“Horrible experience. Would like to give zero stars. Bought 2 sims for 20 EUR and neither works. Support team made me spend 3+ hours doing manual tweaks to end up saying it's a coverage issue and won't refund me. I've tested 10+ esims in many countries and this is the worst. AVOID at all costs!”
“If you buy eSIM with option "activate immediately" everything works fine so far.
ATTENTION: There is also an option for future activation for a specific date
-> eSIM activation in Brazil almost impossible, worked after trying for several hours
-> eSIM has been suspended after six days without any reason (just 6 of 20 GB consumed)
-> Support was unresponsive. No answer to several messages
-> Therefore my WhatsApp account has been reported and temporarily blocked!!!
Product: "Brasil LOCAL 20GB/30d"”
“I got the 2GB for 30 days(not sure about the duration of plan) and it was amazing. Honestly all there esim's are very close to the cheepest and the have a cash back wallet where you earn 10% of every purchase which can than be used to pay for future esim's with them. They use the liberty network in Costa Rica BTW and all their esims are routed through Poland but I didn't feel any slow speeds.”
“Horrible experience. I was never able to activate the eSIM. I kept getting kicked out as the app attempted to register on different networks. I followed dozens of troubleshooting steps with customer service, all without success. I escalated the issue twice, but it was never resolved. I ended up spending four hours of my vacation trying to get it to work.
In the end, I purchased another eSIM from a different provider — it worked like a charm. I even bought another one for use in Panama, which also worked flawlessly and was incredibly easy to activate.
Avoid this service like the plague. It feels like a scam. Even the app looks like an online casino, not a professional eSIM provider.
Horrible experience. Never again. I lost $25 on the Global XL plan, which I never got to use.”
“Horrible. The service never worked. SIM never was able to register with a network. I tried troubleshooting for 2 days losing 2 or 3 hours talking with CS, they asked me to do several things nothing worked, they gave another Sim same thing. The CS was slow to respond and powerless, I escalated the ticket and nobody answer. I purchased a Sim from other company and worked great. Never again! Beware is a scam because I lost my $25!”
“I bought the 30 days plan esim for Colombia and tried to activate it upon arrival without success. I had to buy another esim from another company which worked right away and for 1 week. After several exchanges, the esim finally was activated. BUT, everytime I needed WIFI to connect to the network and get data. I told them the problem and asked for refund since I never was able to use it. They refused. So you buy an esim to get data but to get data you need wifi to connect to the network.
Worst experience with esim, especially if you need it to move around in cities like Bogota.”
“Unfortunately Global eSIM is not working 98% of the time. Only 3G and nothing loads.”
“Scam alert! Do not use Global eSIM.
My girlfriend and I went to Colombia and we chose Global eSIM. Don’t do that, whatever the price. In Bogota, the biggest city in the country, it wasn’t working 95% of the time. We tried to get explanations from them, but they just don’t care. Worst company ever.”
“Cartagena works okay, Medellin works very well, but do not buy for Bogota… Customer service is a big mess!!! 6-7 emails just to get useless nonsense that’s already in the help center, and I have to repeat everything and confirm tons of times… In short, 5 days without service in the largest capital city of Colombia — a real joke!!! Definitely don’t buy!!! Now I’m trying to get a refund… already at 5 emails… A scam!”
“Zero stars if it were possible. Absolutely terrible. Easy to set up and activate, but the data signal was absolutely the worst. Like dial up 1999. Images would not load. Basic internet use was nearly impossible. Only functional for texting. I don't know what the quality is in other countries, but I would not use Breeze again, obviously. They would have to pay me.”
“Bought 2x 7GB eSIMs. It worked on Claro but paid for 7GB and they both stopped working at 5 GB.
Support quickly reactivated one but not the other.
eSIMdb coupon did not work. It looked like it applied but when I paid with Visa card it was the full amount.
Also eSIM provider is Plus in Poland so internet is in Polish and you get annoying EU pop ups on Google and every site.
Local Claro SIM is much cheaper, faster, and no hassles.”
“I’m facing a very bad experience with GlobaleSIM in Colombia ! Since I was in Bogota, I had a terrible connection and the data wasn’t working… I’m in Cartagena and the speed is very slow, only 3G connection and just for a couple minutes because the connection breaks every time, and took 5 minutes or more to get back connected
I get in contact with the support, I did what they said but at the end, they said that they can do nothing to improve the connection.”
“Signal is weak. Loose LTE. From 3G no internet. Price was 18 dollars for 10 GB.month.”
“Not working and also customer response is very slow. If you need it to work quickly choose another service. ”
“Not good, most of the time I could not use it. There was a signal, and people with physical SIMS on the same network had no problems.”
“I didn’t get a confirmation email, from the QR in the confirmation page I could not install it, because it said this QR had been used already, and when checking the code they also mention there it was showing data for a booking completely different than mine. When contacting costumer service they didn’t bother to answer and i just had the option to report them to PayPal, good thing I didn’t give them my credit card details, who knows what would have happened in that situation ”
“After buying more than 20 sim cards from them, this one was a super bad experience after which I think I'd better pay more on other providers than use this one.
I bought a pretty expensive 40 day sim for $70, it said beforehand that it works only on Iphone, so I got an iphone specifically for this. After you order it says - esim will be activated in 12 hours (its the type where you give them your imei and they register you rather than scanning a QR).
12 hours later 2 CS agents contact me separately saying there is a problem activating. I spend 5 days corresponding with them (I needed the card next day after I bought it), customers support end up ghosting me. Asking for a refund finally got a response full week after failed activation. Now 50 days after the claimed refund I havn't got it and they do not respond via any channels.
And I am a recurring customer, I bought more than 20 sims from them already, some of them worked, some didn't, I'd say chance is around 70 working to 30 not working. Every time trying to get a refund is super painful, customer support is awful, but I got at least portion of the money (they refunded me the wrong purchase once). But this time they decided to just lie and hide. So be warned. Also amount of time you need to spend corresponding with them is just abysimal, it is not worth the money. Their voice plans are usually the best, but its a lottery with very high cost of losing. ”
“Not good. When data does work, everything loads slowly but a lot of the time it doesn’t work. The coverage is terrible and j was Constantly losing data signal. I was in Salvador/Bahia and Rio. You would think coverage would be better in Rio but it was worse. It left me stranded and disrupted my whole day. Do not recommend! Also bought a voice plan and the number the gave me never worked and I couldn’t make any calls. Tried to contact them but had no response. Don’t waste your money. Avoid! ”
“I love you! Thank you so much makes the traveling life way easier. This service is great does exactly as it should has some coupons and an overview over all easy to use options. So happy I don’t have to wait at a claro store for 2h to get the eSIM activated
Used your services already 3/4 times absolutely wholesome experience. So the review is not exclusively for Guatemala but for the overall experience you created here. Will continue to do use and spread the word!
Lots of love from a traveler that already saved you on the homescreen
Robin”
“Extremely dissatisfied with the GlobaleSim experience in Ecuador.
Not a single place with 4G coverage and 3G was so slow it was barely usable. Next time, I'll choose another provider.”
Everything you need to know about using eSIMs in South America
In South America there are about 120 travel eSIM providers and roughly 2400 prepaid data plans, giving travelers a wide variety of options that make it easy to find an eSIM that suits their needs.
Unlimited data eSIM plans for South America are available from several providers. Firsty offers a complimentary unlimited option that is ad‑supported and includes a strict speed limit of 256 kbps, which may be throttled. Truely, Roamify, Yesim and Yoho Mobile all provide unlimited data for periods from a single day up to 30 days, many of which allow tethering, though speed can be throttled and some impose a maximum speed of 5 Mbps (as noted for Yoho Mobile). Prices for these unlimited plans range from a free offering with Firsty to premium options near $441.22, with most plans falling between roughly $10 and $155. Travelers should consider their expected data usage and network speed needs when choosing among these unlimited options.
Travel eSIM plans that provide a phone number and SMS capability for South America are offered by several providers, including GlobaleSIM, Roamify, Orange Travel, and TravelKon. All of these plans use foreign dialing codes – either +1, which covers the United States and Canada, or +33, the French international code – so the phone numbers are not local South American numbers, but they do support inbound and outbound voice calls (where indicated) and inbound and, in most cases, outbound SMS.
Prices for these plans begin at about $8.50 USD for a 1 GB package valid for 7 days and rise to around $105.00 USD for a 20 GB package with a 365‑day validity. Data allowances range from 1 GB up to 100 GB, and validity periods span from 7 days to 365 days, giving travelers flexibility in choosing a plan that matches their duration and usage needs.
