Astaroam eSIM Data Plans for Uganda

Astaroam does not provide a true unlimited data eSIM for Uganda. Plans that carry the word “Unlimited” in the name actually have a hard cap of 3 GB per day and feature a reduced speed of 1000 kbps after that limit; they are therefore not unlimited.

Instead, Astaroam offers several fixed data plans that can be used throughout Uganda. For example, a 10 GB bundle for 30 days costs $25.56 USD, while a 5 GB bundle for 30 days is priced at $15.06 USD. These fixed plans offer a larger data allowance at a fixed price and do not include a reduced‑speed threshold once the data is depleted.

Astaroam does not provide Uganda eSIM plans that include a local phone number or SMS capability. Only data‑only plans are offered for destinations in Uganda. Travelers who need voice or text service can still use popular VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection, but availability of these services can vary, so it is wise to confirm that the apps you rely on work in Uganda before purchasing.

Astaroam provides a total of 4 single‑country plans and 13 multi‑country plans for Uganda. The available packages range in price from $4.98 to $32.66, with data caps spanning 1 GB to 10 GB and validity periods extending from 3 to 30 days. Two of the plans reset daily, offering a daily data cap, while the remaining 15 provide a fixed data amount that does not reset. Many of the plans also allow tethering, and several offer reduced speed (1 000 kbps) if the data cap is exceeded.
