Airalo does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for travelers to Africa. The plans labeled “Discover – Unlimited” give 3 GB of high‑speed data per day and reduce speed to 1000 kbps after that limit is reached.

Instead, Airalo sells fixed data plans with larger allowances that cover full-year use. For example, a 20 GB plan is available for 365 days at $66.00 USD, and a 20 GB plan with broader country coverage costs $89.00 USD for the same validity period. These fixed‑data options may be more cost‑effective for users who require consistent high‑speed internet throughout their stay.

Airalo does not provide eSIM plans with a phone number or SMS capability for Africa. The provider only offers data‑only eSIMs for that region. Travelers can still use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection for voice and messaging needs.
