MobiMatter eSIM Data Plans for Africa

MobiMatter does not provide an unlimited‑data eSIM plan for Africa. Travelers who require a larger data allowance can choose from MobiMatter’s fixed‑data plans, such as the Global Special 20 GB plan, which is valid for 365 days, or the Global Special 10 GB plan, valid for 180 days. These alternatives offer substantial data volumes and support tethering across many African countries, including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Rwanda. Selecting a fixed data plan can be more cost‑effective for most users unless a truly unlimited data consumption is anticipated.

MobiMatter does not provide an eSIM with a phone number or SMS capability for Africa. The plans sold for African destinations are data‑only; they give you mobile internet through the local network but do not give you a local number or the ability to receive or send SMS. Travelers who need voice or messaging services can instead use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection.
