Nomad eSIM Data Plans for Asia

Nomad does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Asia. The plans that carry “unlimited” in their name actually give 2GB of high‑speed data per day; once that daily quota is reached the speed is throttled to 1000kbps.

Travelers who need a larger data allowance can choose Nomad’s fixed data plans. For example, a 50GB plan valid for 45 days costs $51, and a 20GB plan for the same period costs $35. Both plans cover the same Asian countries as the “unlimited” options and offer a straightforward, cost‑effective way to stay connected without the need for a true unlimited data bundle.

Nomad does not provide Asian eSIM plans that include a phone number or SMS capability. Travelers looking for a local number for calls or text messages will need to rely on data‑only plans and use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage for communication over the data connection. However, some destinations in Asia may block or restrict specific VoIP services, so users should verify that the apps they depend on are accessible in the country they plan to visit before purchasing a Nomad eSIM.

Nomad offers several Asia‑focused eSIM options. The ‘Regional APAC’ and ‘Regional APAC – ’ plans cover the following Asian countries: Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Macau, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam. These same countries are also included in the broader ‘Regional Global’ and ‘Regional Global‑EX’ plans, which, in addition to the Asian coverage above, extend to many other regions worldwide.
