Airalo does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Southeast Asia. The plans that carry the name “Unlimited” are capped at 3GB per day and, after that amount is used, the connection throttles to 1000 kbps.

Instead, Airalo offers several fixed‑data options. For example, the Asialink – 100 GB plan provides 100 GB of high‑speed 5G data for 180 days at $89 USD, and the Asialink – 50 GB plan gives 50 GB for 90 days at $69 USD. These fixed‑data plans can be more cost‑effective for travelers who need higher data usage without the speed reduction that comes with the “Unlimited” packages.

Airalo does not provide eSIM plans with a phone number or SMS capability for Southeast Asia. All eSIM offerings for this region are data‑only, allowing you to connect to the internet via 4G or 5G. You can still use VoIP services such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage to make calls and send messages over the data connection, as these apps do not require a local phone number or SMS access.
