Billion Connect eSIM Data Plans for South Africa

Billion Connect does not provide an unlimited‑data eSIM plan for South Africa. The plans it lists for the country are fixed‑data bundles that have a hard cap, such as the 1‑day plan that allows 100 GB of data or the 30‑day plans that allow 50 GB of data. Once the purchase limit is reached, additional data must be obtained by buying a new plan.

For travelers who need a large amount of data without an “unlimited” label, the fixed‑data options can be the most economical choice. Examples include the 100 GB 1‑day Orange World eSIM and the 50 GB 30‑day South Africa eSIM. These plans give a clear data allowance and validity period, and can be selected if a user is not an extremely heavy data consumer.

Billion Connect does not offer eSIM plans that include a phone number or SMS for South Africa. Only data‑only eSIM plans are available from this provider. Travelers can use VoIP apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage over the data connection, but these services may be restricted or blocked in South Africa, so it is advisable to verify app availability before purchasing.

Billion Connect provides 39 single‑country plans that are valid in South Africa and, in addition, 44 multi‑country plans that include South Africa among other destinations. The available plans span a price range from about $1.90 to $175.00 USD, with data caps that vary between 500 MB and 100 GB. Validity periods run from one day up to 30 days. Plans are offered in two main styles: fixed data cap plans, which allocate a set amount of data for the entire validity period, and daily data cap plans, which refresh the data allowance each day over the chosen validity window. The catalogue also notes features such as tethering capability and a reduced speed option of 128 kbps where applicable.
