CloudOn eSIM eSIM Data Plans for South Africa

CloudOn eSIM does not provide a true unlimited‑data plan for South Africa. The plans that include “Unlimited” in their name actually give 2 GB per day or 3 GB per day of high‑speed data for the stated validity period; once that amount is reached, speed is throttled to 1 Mbps.

Instead, travelers can select fixed data plans such as 50 GB for 30 days, 20 GB for 30 days, or 10 GB for 30 days, or choose one of the 3 GB per day plans that run for 3, 5, 7, 10, or 15 days. These options provide a larger high‑speed data allowance and may be more cost‑effective for users with heavy data needs.

CloudOn eSIM does not provide a South Africa eSIM that includes a phone number or SMS capability. Travelers who use a CloudOn eSIM in South Africa will have access only to a data‑only service. VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage can normally be used over the data connection for voice and text messaging, but some destinations may block or restrict specific apps or VoIP services. Travelers should check that the apps they rely on are accessible in South Africa before purchasing.

CloudOn offers 23 single‑country plans and 13 multi‑country plans for South Africa. The catalogue includes both daily data‑cap options that reset every day and fixed data‑cap plans that apply for the entire validity period. Across the range, prices vary from $3.99 to $119.49 while data allowances extend from 1 GB up to 50 GB.
