Astaroam eSIM Data Plans for Costa Rica

Astaroam does not provide a true unlimited data eSIM for Costa Rica. All of its Airtroam plans for the country have a fixed data allowance that must be used within a set validity period. The plans labeled “Unlimited – 3 days”, “Unlimited – 5 days”, etc. actually grant 3 GB per day and reduce the speed to 1000 kbps once the limit is reached.

If a traveler prefers a higher data budget, Astaroam offers fixed‑data options such as a 10 GB plan for 30 days (priced at $17.76 USD) or a 5 GB plan for 30 days (priced at $13.64 USD). These plans provide a single, capped amount of high‑speed data that must be consumed before the validity expires. For heavy data users, a fixed data plan may be more cost‑effective than choosing the “Unlimited” style plans.

Astaroam does not provide any eSIM plans with a phone number or SMS capability for Costa Rica. Only data‑only eSIMs are offered by the provider for this destination. Travelers who need to make calls or send text messages can use VoIP services such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage over the data connection, but they should verify that those apps are accessible in Costa Rica before purchasing.

Astaroam offers six single‑country plans and twelve multi‑country plans for Costa Rica. The available plans range in price from about $3.26 to $45.71, with data caps between 1 GB and 10 GB and validity periods from 3 to 30 days. Some plans feature a daily data cap while others provide a fixed data amount for the entire validity period.
