Kolet eSIM Data Plans for Costa Rica

Kolet does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Costa Rica. The plans that carry the word “UNLIMITED” give 5 GB of high‑speed data per day and then throttle the connection to 1024 kbps, so the data is not unlimited.

Travelers who need a larger, fixed amount of high‑speed data can choose from Kolet’s fixed data plans, such as the 20 GB for 30 days plan priced at $50.49 USD or the 10 GB for 30 days plan priced at $33.49 USD. These plans offer a set amount of data that can be more cost‑effective unless the user is an extremely heavy data consumer.

Kolet does not offer an eSIM plan for Costa Rica that includes a phone number or SMS capability. The provider’s available offerings in this destination are data‑only plans, so travelers will not receive inbound or outbound voice or text services.

Even though a phone number is not provided, data‑only eSIMs allow the use of VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage for voice and messaging. Those services work over the data connection, but some destinations may restrict access to particular apps or VoIP services, so it is advisable for passengers to confirm that the apps they rely on are accessible in Costa Rica before making a purchase.

Kolet offers 13 single‑country data plans available for Costa Rica, with a separate set of 10 multi‑country plans that cover Costa Rica among other destinations. The plans cover a price range from about $5.61 to $100.80 and provide data caps between 1 GB and 20 GB. Some plans use a fixed‑data cap structure (16 options) while others impose a daily data‑cap limit (7 options), allowing travelers to choose between a consistent total data allotment or a per‑day consumption limit.
