Yatelo eSIM Data Plans for Costa Rica

Yatelo does not sell a true unlimited‑data eSIM for Costa Rica. All of its plans available in that country have a hard data cap. The plans that carry “Unlimited” in the name actually provide 3 GB of high‑speed data; once the 3 GB is used the speed drops to 1000 kbps. For travelers who need more data, Yatelo offers fixed data bundles. For example, the LAM 50GB 30 Days plan gives 50 GB of 5G data for 30 days, while the CRI 20GB 30 Days plan supplies 20 GB for the same period. These fixed‑data options can be more cost‑effective for most users, especially if they are not extremely heavy data consumers.

Yatelo does not provide a Costa Rica eSIM that includes a phone number or SMS capability.
Customers can only purchase data‑only plans, which allow internet access for browsing and for use of VoIP services such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage. Travelers should check that the VoIP apps they rely on are accessible in Costa Rica before purchasing a data plan, as some destinations may block or restrict certain services.

Yatelo offers a total of 6 single‑country data plans specifically for Costa Rica, and an additional 18 multi‑country plans that include Costa Rica as one of the covered destinations. The single‑country options range in price from about $3.65 to $149.18 and provide data caps between 1 GB and 25 GB, while the multi‑country plans span a similar price spectrum but typically offer higher data caps, up to 50 GB. The validity periods vary from 3 to 30 days across both categories, and most plans allow tethering with a reduced speed of 1000 kbit/s.
