Great value and good enough reception for a 10day trip from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo to Queenstown.

It's trash. The bandwidth is undoubtedly restricted to below 100kbps, making it completely unusable. Do not sign up for it under any circumstances.

I'm was in Auckland for five days, got a eSIM from Yesim for 3gb for seven days. Simple process and it worked flawlessly when I landed. Internet breakout is in Poland though, so there's a little latency, not a big issue but might be annoying for video calls.
Don't recommend their app though, it immediately began sending push notification spam every few hours. The website works fine for keeping track of usage though.

Not good. Installed the eSIM and everything looked as though it should work. Settings were correct! But although I had full network coverage according to my phone nothing would load and i wasn’t connected to the internet!? And the GoMoWorld app kept telling me that I hadn’t downloaded the eSIM? I tried all the troubleshooting and nothing worked!
New Zealand offers over 110 travel eSIM brands and more than 4, 400 prepaid data plans. With this extensive range, travelers can easily locate an eSIM that meets their roaming needs.
Travelers can choose from several providers that offer unlimited data eSIMs for New Zealand. The providers include Firsty, Roamify, Billion Connect, Yoho Mobile, Truely, abesteSIM, Yesim and Airhub. Prices start as low as zero dollars for Firsty’s one‑day plan and rise to around sixty dollars for Airhub’s ten‑to‑thirty‑day plans. Some plans impose speed limits or throttling—Firsty limits speed to 256 kbps, Yoho Mobile and abesteSIM limit speed to 5 Mbps, and many of the other offers may throttle speed after data usage thresholds. Validity periods range from a single day to up to thirty days, and most plans allow tethering.
In New Zealand, three primary Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) provide extensive coverage and services:
Spark: Established in 1987 (formerly known as Telecom), Spark offers nationwide 4G and expanding 5G services, covering approximately 98% of the country.
One NZ: Previously known as Vodafone, One NZ provides 4G and 5G services, reaching 99% of areas where New Zealanders live and work.
2degrees: Launched in 2009, 2degrees offers 4G and expanding 5G services, covering 98.5% of the places New Zealanders live and work.
In addition to these MNOs, New Zealand has several Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) that lease network access from the major carriers to offer their own mobile services. Examples include Warehouse Mobile (using the 2degrees network) and Kogan Mobile (using the One NZ network). It's important to note that most travel eSIMs rely on the infrastructure of the primary MNOs rather than MVNOs.
Travel eSIM plans that provide a phone number and SMS for New Zealand are available from several providers, including GlobaleSIM, Amigo eSIM, Roamify, and MoreMins eSIM. Prices start at around $4 USD for a 1 GB 7‑day data package and can rise to approximately $105 USD for a 20 GB plan valid for 365 days; validity ranges typically span from 7 days to 365 days.
The telephony features of these plans vary by dialing code. GlobaleSIM offers numbers with the dialing code +1, which the service treats as local for travel in New Zealand, and includes inbound and outbound voice and either inbound or inbound‑and‑outbound SMS depending on the specific package. Amigo eSIM, Roamify (for plans that use +44 or +33) and MoreMins eSIM provide numbers with foreign dialing codes (+44 for the United Kingdom and +33 for France), so these numbers are not local New Zealand numbers, but they still support inbound and outbound calls and SMS.
