Nomad eSIM Data Plans for Romania

Nomad does not provide a true unlimited data eSIM for Romania. The plans that use the word “unlimited” in their name actually give 2 GB per day and, once that limit is reached, the speed is reduced to 1000 kbps.

Instead, Nomad offers fixed data plans for Romania. For example, the Local Romania 30‑day plan supplies 50 GB of high‑speed data for $45.00 USD, and the Local Romania 30‑day 20 GB plan provides 20 GB for $20.00 USD. These fixed‑data options give a larger, unthrottled data allowance and can be more cost‑effective for most travelers.

Nomad does not provide eSIMs for Romania that include a local phone number or SMS capability. Travelers using a Nomad eSIM for Romania will have a data‑only plan. They can still use VoIP services such as WhatsApp, Telegram and iMessage over the data connection for calls and messaging, but they should verify that the apps they rely on are accessible in Romania before purchasing, as some destinations can block or restrict specific services.

Nomad offers 10 single‑country plans and 32 multi‑country plans that include Romania. The options span roughly $3 to $170 in price, with data caps from 1 GB up to 50 GB and validity periods ranging from 3 to 365 days. Some plans provide a fixed data amount that remains constant for the entire validity period, while others include a daily data cap that limits usage each day.
