Simology eSIM Data Plans for Rwanda

Simology does not provide a true unlimited data eSIM for Rwanda. All of its Rwanda plans have a hard data cap, even those whose names include the word “Unlimited.” The so‑called “Unlimited” plans actually offer 1 GB per day for the specified number of days; after that, the speed is reduced to 1 Mbps.

Instead, Simology offers fixed data plans with larger single data allowances. For example, there is a 50 GB plan valid for 30 days and a 20 GB plan also valid for 30 days. These fixed data plans can be more cost‑effective for travelers who need a high amount of data without the need to monitor a daily quota.

Simology does not offer a Rwanda eSIM that includes a phone number or SMS capability. The provider only offers data‑only plans for Rwanda, so travelers will not receive local voice or text services with the SIM.

In this situation users can still make and receive calls and send messages using VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection. However, some destinations may block or limit access to certain apps or VoIP services, so it is advisable to confirm that the necessary apps work in Rwanda before purchasing a data‑only plan.

Simology offers 13 single‑country data plans for Rwanda and does not provide any multi‑country plans. The available plans range in price from about $5.81 to $103.53 and provide data caps between 1 GB and 50 GB, with validity periods from 3 to 30 days. Among these, six plans feature a daily data cap while seven offer a fixed data amount for the entire validity period. Tethering is allowed on all plans, and a reduced speed of 1000 kbps may apply to some of them.
