merdata eSIM Data Plans for China

Merdata does not provide an unlimited data eSIM for China. All of the China‑only eSIMs offered by merdata are capped at either 20GB or 50GB and come with a fixed validity period of 30 days or 180 days. These are fixed data plans, not pay‑as‑you‑go plans.

For travelers who need a larger data allowance, merdata offers the 50GB 30‑day plan for $48.45 USD and the 50GB 180‑day plan for $64.63 USD, both covering China only. Choosing a fixed data plan can be more cost‑effective for most users unless an extremely heavy data consumer requires truly unlimited usage.

Merdata does not provide a China eSIM that includes a phone number or SMS capability. Only data‑only plans are available for that destination.
Travelers who need spoken or text communication can use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection, but the availability of these services can vary. It is advisable to check whether the required apps are accessible in China before purchasing a plan.
