Globie eSIM Data Plans for Dominican Republic

Globie does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for the Dominican Republic. The plans that carry the word “Unlimited” in their name give a daily allowance of 3GB; once that daily limit is reached the speed is throttled to 1000kbps, so the data is not unlimited.

Travelers who need a larger, unthrottled data allowance can choose one of Globie’s fixed data plans. For example, a 20GB plan for 30 days or a 10GB plan for 30 days are available for the Dominican Republic and offer a higher total data amount without the daily speed reduction that applies to the “Unlimited” plans. These fixed plans may be more cost‑effective for most users unless very heavy data consumption is required.

Globie does not offer a Dominican Republic eSIM plan that includes a local phone number or SMS capability. The available options are data‑only, so travelers needing a number for calls or text messages would need to rely on internet‑based messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage. These apps can usually be used with the data connection, but it is advisable to confirm that the necessary VoIP services work in the Dominican Republic before purchasing a plan.

Globie provides a total of 15 distinct data plans for the Dominican Republic, comprising 11 single‑country packages and an additional 4 multi‑country offerings that include the country. The available options span prices from $4.99 to $353.49 and data caps ranging from 1 GB to 20 GB, with validity periods between 5 and 30 days. Among these, 6 plans feature a daily data cap that limits usage each day of the validity period, while the remaining 9 plans use a fixed data cap that applies to the entire duration. These plans also allow tethering and come with a reduced speed of 512 Kbps if the data limit is reached.
