“I used it only for a few days, but it worked without any issues. The signal was consistently available, and I was able to use Personal Hotspot to share data with my laptop, which was really convenient. However, the price is definitely not on the cheap side. Without the promo code discount, it wouldn't have been my first choice.”
“Just bought esim. It installed successfully, but the is “no service” tag. Support for not answering, pulling me constant automatic texts in WhatsApp.
I noticed in the Airalo app that traffic I just bought aka “my package” is “not active”. There is explanations or guide on how to “activate” the paid and installed esim.”
“Very easy to set up, instantaneous. ”
“It worked really well for my trip to Jakarta. You just need to change APN and turn on data roaming, then it connects to XL or Indosat 4G in Indonesia. Speed is good and stable, ping is acceptable (it roams through Singapore). Overall good experience. Recommended.”
Airalo for Indonesia FAQ
Does Airalo offer unlimited data eSIM for Indonesia?
Airalo does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Indonesia. All of the plans listed for Indonesia have a hard data cap and, after a specified amount of data is used per day, the speed is throttled to 1 Mbps. The plans that offer the largest data allowances are fixed data plans such as Asialink – 100 GB valid for 180 days and Indotel – 50 GB valid for 30 days, which may be more cost‑effective for travelers that need a lot of high‑speed data.
Does Airalo offer Indonesia eSIM with phone number and SMS?
Airalo does not provide Indonesia eSIM plans that include a local phone number or SMS capability. All Indonesia eSIMs sold through Airalo are data‑only, so travelers do not receive an outbound or inbound calling number or text messaging service.
Travelers who need voice and messaging can use popular VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage over the data connection. However, some destinations may block or restrict certain apps, so it is advisable to confirm that the chosen VoIP services are accessible in Indonesia before purchasing an eSIM.
How many data plans does Airalo offer for Indonesia?
Airalo lists 18 single‑country plans and 35 multi‑country plans that cover Indonesia, a total of 53 data plans. These plans range in price from about $4.00 to $97.00 and provide data caps between 1 GB and 100 GB. Some of the plans offer a fixed data amount, while others are based on a daily data cap, giving users flexibility depending on the length of their stay and usage patterns.
