I used it only for a few days, but it worked without any issues. The signal was consistently available, and I was able to use Personal Hotspot to share data with my laptop, which was really convenient. However, the price is definitely not on the cheap side. Without the promo code discount, it wouldn't have been my first choice.

Just bought esim. It installed successfully, but the is “no service” tag. Support for not answering, pulling me constant automatic texts in WhatsApp.
I noticed in the Airalo app that traffic I just bought aka “my package” is “not active”. There is explanations or guide on how to “activate” the paid and installed esim.

It worked really well for my trip to Jakarta. You just need to change APN and turn on data roaming, then it connects to XL or Indosat 4G in Indonesia. Speed is good and stable, ping is acceptable (it roams through Singapore). Overall good experience. Recommended.
Airalo does not provide a truly unlimited high‑speed data plan for Indonesia. The only plan that carries “Unlimited” in its name, Indotel – Unlimited, actually offers 3 GB of high‑speed data per day for 10 days, after which the speed is reduced to 1000 kbps, so it is not unlimited.
Travelers seeking large amounts of data will find several fixed‑data options. For example, Asialink sells a 100 GB plan valid for 180 days and a 50 GB plan valid for 90 days, both available at 5 G speed in Indonesia. A 20 GB plan from Asialink or Indotel is also available for 30 days. These plans can be more cost‑effective for heavy data users compared to a “unlimited” plan that throttles after the capped amount.
Airalo does not provide Indonesia eSIM plans that include a local phone number or SMS capability. All of Airalo’s Indonesia data‑only eSIM offerings give you speed and connectivity but do not allow inbound or outbound voice calls or SMS messages. Travelers who need voice or text messaging can use popular VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage over the data connection, which work without a local phone number.
Airalo currently offers 7 single coverage data plans specifically for Indonesia, alongside 20 multi country plans that include Indonesia as part of their coverage. These plans vary, with options for both fixed data amounts (like 1GB or 100GB) and one plan offering a daily data allowance. Prices range from approximately $4.50 to $185.00, and plans are valid for between 7 and 365 days. Some plans may experience reduced speeds after a certain data usage threshold.
