Lumbus eSIM Data Plans for Italy

Lumbus does not provide a truly unlimited high‑speed data plan for Italy. All plans whose name contains “Unlimited” offer a hard cap of 3GB per day; after the daily allowance the speed drops to 1000kbps. The high‑cap plans are fixed‑data plans, not Pay‑as‑you‑go credits, so the data is limited and must be used within the stated validity period.

For travelers needing more data, Lumbus supplies fixed plans such as Italy 50GB for 30 or 180 days, Europe 35 100GB for 180 days, and other 50GB bundles that cover Italy. These give larger data allowances at a set cost and can be more economical for most users who do not require ongoing unlimited access.

Lumbus does not provide any Italy eSIM plans that include a local phone number or SMS capability. All available plans are data‑only, so travelers cannot receive SMS messages or use a traditional phone number while traveling in Italy.

For voice and messaging, users can rely on VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage, which work over the data connection. However, certain destinations may impose restrictions on these services, so it is advisable to confirm that the apps you need are accessible in Italy before purchasing a plan.

Lumbus offers 12 single‑country data plans for Italy and 43 multi‑country plans that include Italy. The plans are split into 12 daily‑data‑cap options and 43 fixed‑data‑cap options. Prices range from about $1.99 to $140.99, while data caps vary from 1 GB up to 50 GB. Daily‑cap plans reset each day, whereas fixed‑cap plans provide a set amount of data for the entire validity period.
