Horizon eSIM eSIM Data Plans for Japan

Horizon eSIM does not provide an unlimited data eSIM for Japan. The provider’s Japan‑specific plans are fixed data bundles, such as the Japan 50GB 180Days plan and the APAC 20GB 90days plan, which offer 50 GB and 20 GB of high‑speed data respectively for 180 days and 90 days of validity.

Choosing a fixed data plan can be more cost‑effective for most travelers, unless the user expects to consume data at a very high rate that would exceed the bundle’s allowance.

Horizon eSIM does not provide Japan eSIM plans that include a local phone number or SMS capability. The only plans sold by Horizon eSIM for Japan are data‑only eSIMs. Travelers who need voice or messaging can use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection, but they should verify that these services are accessible in Japan before making a purchase.

Horizon eSIM offers seven single‑country plans that cover Japan exclusively, in addition to ten multi‑country plans that include Japan as part of their wider coverage. The plans span a price range of roughly $0.31 to $308.18 USD and data allocations from 100 MB up to 50 GB. Some options provide a fixed data allotment for the entire validity period, while others apply a daily data cap that may be useful for travelers who need more flexible usage patterns.
