I tested Ubigi (5G) and TravelKon (Docomo IIJ) (LTE only).
Both have Japan IP address.
But TravelKon is faster ping (45ms) instead of Ubigi (120ms) even on 5G.
TravelKon (Docomo IIJ) is recommended.
Was very happy with service. 5G phone connected at 5G. One of the few options in Japan that will do that. Most roaming services won't and a lot of other prepaid providers won't.
Service was 4G rather than 5G but speeds were perfectly fine, even for real-time navigation. The few low numbers recorded in speed tests were almost all at Narita Airport.
10 GB each turned out to be plenty for 9 days in Tokyo. We did connect our phones to the hotel's WiFi but probably didn't need to.
Works great! Good coverage (docomo network it seems), Japanese IP, and good ping times to Europe. Used with an iPhone XS on LTE. Attached Speedtest is from a train
It was great value for money for my trip to Japan. Very simple app.
I only regret one thing: not having known about it sooner!

Add Data Plan
Scan the QR code you will receive in an email to add the data plan. Once it's added, turn on it for Mobile Data and turn on Data Roaming. You will be then able to access Ubigi mobile app using cellular data. On Ubigi mobile app, create an account first and then purchase a data plan to start using internet with Ubigi eSIM.
