Keep On Roaming eSIM Data Plans for Japan

Keep On Roaming does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Japan. The plans that carry the “Unlimited” label actually supply 1 GB per day of high‑speed data; once that daily amount is used, the speed is reduced. For travelers who need more data without a daily limit, Keep On Roaming offers fixed‑data plans such as 20 GB for 30 days, 10 GB for 30 days, or 5 GB for 30 days, which give a single fixed data allowance that must be used within the validity period. These fixed‑data options can be more cost‑effective for most users.

Keep On Roaming does not provide an eSIM for Japan that includes a phone number or SMS capability. Travelers who need a local number for voice calls or text messages must look for another provider or use a data‑only plan.

With a data‑only eSIM from Keep On Roaming, Wi‑Fi calling and messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage can be used over the data connection to make and receive calls and send messages. However, some destinations may block or limit access to particular VoIP services, so it is advisable to confirm that the apps you rely on are accessible in Japan before purchasing.

Keep On Roaming offers 12 single‑country plans and 11 multi‑country plans that cover Japan. Prices span from $7.00 to $148.00, with data caps ranging from 1 GB to 20 GB and validity periods of 1 to 30 days. Plans are available in both fixed data amounts and daily data caps, allowing travelers to choose either a specific total data allotment or a daily usage limit that suits their travel style.
