Kolet eSIM Data Plans for Japan

Kolet does not provide a true unlimited eSIM for Japan. The plans titled “Japan UNLIMITED” offer 5GB per day of high‑speed data; once that daily quota is reached the speed is capped to 1024 kbps. These plans are therefore fixed‑data plans with a reduced speed after the daily limit rather than unlimited data.

For travelers who need a larger, time‑bound data allowance, Kolet offers fixed plans such as Japan 20GB for 30 days or Japan 10GB for 30 days. These provide a set amount of high‑speed data for the validity period and may be a more economical choice for heavy‑data users.

Kolet does not provide an eSIM plan for Japan that includes a phone number or SMS capability. Their Japan offerings are data‑only, so no voice or text services are available through a local number. Travelers wishing to make voice calls or send messages can use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage over the data connection. However, some destinations may restrict access to specific apps or services, so it is advisable to verify that the apps you need are available in Japan before purchasing.

Kolet offers 13 single‑country plans and 10 multi‑country plans that include Japan. The provider provides both fixed‑data‑cap plans, which give a set amount of data for the entire validity period, and daily‑data‑cap plans, which allow a certain amount of data each day. Prices generally range from roughly $4 to $122, while data caps are between 1 GB and 20 GB across the various options.
