FootySIMs eSIM Data Plans for Portugal

FootySIMs does not provide a true unlimited‑data eSIM for Portugal. The plans that carry the word “Unlimited” in their name actually grant 1 GB per day of high‑speed data for a set period and then throttle the connection to 512 kbps.

Travelers who need high‑speed data can choose one of FootySIMs’ fixed‑data plans that offer a larger single allowance, such as the 1 GB plan valid for 7 days (priced at $1.72 USD) or the same 1 GB plan for 30 days (priced at $44.61 USD). These fixed‑data options are more cost‑effective for most users and avoid the reduced speed that applies after the daily cap is reached.

FootySIMs does not offer a Portugal eSIM that includes a phone number or SMS service. Only data‑only plans are available for travelers who wish to connect to the Portuguese network.

For those needing voice or messaging, popular VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage can normally be used over the data connection. However, some destinations may block or restrict certain apps or VoIP services, so it is advisable to confirm that the applications you rely on are accessible in Portugal before purchasing a data‑only plan.

FootySIMs provides three single‑country data plans for Portugal. The plans cover a price range from $1.72 to $44.04 USD and a data capacity of 1 GB. Two of the options are structured as daily data cap plans, meaning a set amount of data is available every day, while the remaining option is a fixed data cap plan, offering a single lump sum of data for the entire validity period. The validity spans between 7 and 30 days, and all plans include tethering and a reduced speed of 512 kbps.
