Airalo APP is really great, but service is very poor.
In Japan when it connects it's very fast on DOCOMO, often it cannot connect to KDDI (when it does, it's fast too). The big issue with Airalo for me, on a Pixel 6a and Pixel 4a is availability.
In all 3 countries (Eurolink, Asialink, Japan, Turkey cards) I frequently loose connectivity and have no signal even after restarting the phone (even in central train stations, airport, etc).
Japan and Asia cards are going via SingTel Singapore (but I have a Singtell card and the experience is better than Airalo).
Turkey card goes through OVH france, Netflix doesn't work.
Eurolink, only 3G in Georgia so couldn't connect 99% of the time. When it did, it was extremely slow that even whatsapp not going through easily.
Airalo does not provide a true unlimited data eSIM for Turkey. All plans that carry the “Unlimited” label limit the user to 3 GB of high‑speed data per day; once that 3 GB is reached the speed drops to 1000 kbps. Because of the daily cap, these plans are not equivalent to a no‑limit data plan.
Instead, Airalo offers fixed data plans that may be more cost‑effective for travelers who need a large amount of high‑speed data. For example, the Merhaba 50 GB plan for 30 days costs $34.50 USD, and the Merhaba 20 GB plan for 15 days is $22.00 USD. These plans give a straightforward data allowance without the daily speed throttling associated with the “Unlimited” label.
Does Airalo offer Turkey eSIM with phone number and SMS?
Airalo does not provide Turkey eSIM plans that include a phone number or SMS capabilities. The available eSIMs are data‑only, so you cannot place or receive voice calls or send or receive SMS directly through the SIM. For voice and messaging you would need to rely on VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage that work over data connections.
