It's good.
Speeds are 32Mb download and 3Mb upload. Impressive even if not stellar fast. Yes I would recommend Airalo. First attempt using an ESIM in Europe. Far more convenient given the limited option available when we arrived in Venice on route to Austria.
Airalo does not provide a true unlimited high‑speed data eSIM for Austria. The only plan with “Unlimited” in the name is the Eurolink – Unlimited plan, which offers 3 GB of high‑speed data per day for 10 days, after which the speed drops to 1000 kbps. For travelers who need larger data allowances, Airalo offers several fixed plans such as Eurolink – 100 GB for 180 days, Eurolink – 50 GB for 90 days, and Galli – 20 GB for 30 days, all of which provide high‑speed data until the limit is reached. These fixed plans can be more cost‑effective than a nominal unlimited plan that throttles speed after a daily usage cap.
Airalo offers Austria eSIM plans that include a local phone number and full telephony and SMS support. The Galli+ bundle ranges from 1 GB to 20 GB of data, is valid from 7 days up to 30 days, and costs between $5.50 USD and $24.00 USD. Each plan uses the dialing code +43, which is a local Austrian number, and allows inbound and outbound voice calls as well as inbound and outbound SMS. Users who need specific call or text functionality are encouraged to confirm the details directly with Airalo.
Airalo offers 12 single‑country plans and 27 multi‑country plans that include Austria.
The plans available on the site range in price from about $4.50 to $185.00, with data caps between 1 GB and 100 GB and validity periods from 7 to 365 days. Among these options, one daily data‑cap plan limits consumption on a day‑by‑day basis, while 38 fixed‑data‑cap plans provide a set amount of data that is usable for the entire validity period.
