Truely eSIM Data Plans for Japan

Truely does not provide an unlimited data eSIM plan for Japan. All of its Japanese offerings are capped at either 10GB or 20GB of high‑speed internet.

For travelers needing a fixed data supply, Truely offers several options, such as the Japan – 20GB, 30 days plan for $24.99 USD, the Japan – 20GB, Never Expire plan for $44.99 USD, or the Japan – 10GB, 30 days plan for $17.99 USD. These fixed plans can be more cost‑effective for most users, especially those who do not require unrestricted data usage.

Truely does not provide a Japan eSIM that includes a mandatory phone number or SMS capability. Travelers must choose a data‑only plan and can use VoIP applications—such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage—over the data connection for voice calls and messages. Because some destinations may block or restrict access to particular apps or VoIP services, it is advisable to verify that the messaging or calling apps essential to the user can be used in Japan before purchasing the plan.

Truely offers a total of 18 data plans that include Japan, split evenly between single‑country options and multi‑country packages. Specifically, there are 9 single‑country plans that cover Japan alone and 9 multi‑country plans that include Japan among their destinations. These plans span a price range from about $1.69 to $48.99 and offer data caps between 300 MB and 20 GB, with validity periods ranging from no expiry to 30 days. Some of the plans allow tethering, providing flexibility for travelers who need to share the connection with other devices.
