Bordersim eSIM Data Plans for Mexico

Bordersim does not provide an unlimited‑data eSIM for Mexico. All of the plans that they list for Mexico have a hard data cap, with the largest being a 50GB bundle that must be used within 30 days.

If a traveler needs a large data allowance, Bordersim offers fixed data plans such as the 50GB 30‑day option and the 20GB 30‑day option, both of which give high‑speed 5G access throughout Mexico. These fixed bundles can be more cost‑effective for typical usage, unless the user is an extremely heavy data consumer who might prefer a Pay‑as‑you‑go arrangement.

Bordersim does not offer any eSIM plans for Mexico that include a local phone number or SMS capability. Travelers can only purchase data‑only eSIMs from this provider for use in Mexico.

Those who need to communicate while abroad can use VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage over the data connection. However, some destinations may restrict access to certain VoIP services, so users should confirm that the apps they rely on are available in Mexico before buying a plan.

Bordersim offers 9 single‑country plans that cover only Mexico and 22 multi‑country plans that include Mexico in their coverage. The available plans range in price from about $2.99 to $111.99 and provide data from as little as 100 MB up to 50 GB, with validity periods between 7 and 365 days. Some of the offerings are fixed data plans giving a specific amount of data regardless of usage, while others have a daily data cap and are designed for short‑term stays. This range gives travelers options for both short bursts of connectivity and longer, more comprehensive use.
