Giga.Tel eSIM Data Plans for Mexico

Giga.Tel does not provide an unlimited data eSIM for Mexico. All of its Mexico‑specific plans have fixed data caps. For example, the Mexico – 50GB – 30 Days – Free VPN plan gives 50GB of high‑speed data for 30 days, and the Mexico – 20GB – 30 Days – Free VPN plan offers 20GB for the same period. Both plans are available on 5G networks and include a free VPN service for the duration of the validity period.

If a traveler needs more data, Giga.Tel offers larger fixed‑data options such as the 50GB plan with a 180‑day validity that covers Mexico and two additional North American countries, or the 20GB plan with a 90‑day validity for the same area. Choosing a fixed‑data plan can be more cost‑effective for most users, unless the traveler is an extremely heavy data consumer who would benefit from an unlimited plan.

Giga.Tel does not offer any Mexico eSIM plans that include a local phone number or SMS capability. The provider’s catalog for Mexico consists solely of data‑only plans, so travelers will not receive a native phone number or the ability to send or receive SMS through the eSIM. However, data connectivity covers VoIP and internet messaging services such as WhatsApp, Telegram and iMessage. These apps can generally be used for calls and messaging once the eSIM is activated, but travelers should verify that such services are accessible in Mexico before purchasing a plan, as some destinations may restrict or block specific applications.

Giga.Tel offers 21 single‑country data plans that are valid only for Mexico and 47 multi‑country plans that include Mexico in their coverage. The plans are priced between $2.49 and $114.55. They provide between 1 GB and 50 GB of data, with validity periods ranging from 1 day up to 365 days. Some plans lock in a fixed amount of data for the entire validity, while others allow for a daily data allowance; the choice depends on the specific plan selected.
