Sim Local eSIM Data Plans for Malaysia

Sim Local does not provide a truly unlimited data eSIM for Malaysia. The plans that carry the word “Unlimited” in their names actually give a fixed daily allowance of 5 GB or 10 GB for 7 or 15 days; once the daily limit is reached the speed is reduced.

Travelers who need a larger data allowance can choose from Sim Local’s fixed data plans, such as the Orange Holiday World 100 GB for 31 days, the Orange Holiday World 50 GB for 31 days, the Malaysia 20 GB for 30 days, or the Asia 20 GB for 31 days. These plans offer substantial data volumes and can be more cost‑effective for most users unless an extremely heavy data consumer is required.

Sim Local does not provide any Malaysia eSIM plans that include a local phone number or SMS functionality. The provider offers only data‑only eSIMs for travelers in Malaysia.

Travelers who need voice or messaging can use popular VoIP applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or iMessage over the data connection, but they should verify that these services are accessible in Malaysia before purchasing, as some destinations may block or restrict specific apps or VoIP traffic.

Sim Local provides 9 single‑country plans and 13 multi‑country plans for Malaysia, which totals 22 distinct data plans. The plans are categorized into daily data cap options and fixed data cap options, the former offering a set amount of data usable each day while the latter gives a fixed total data allocation for the plan’s validity. Prices range from $4.00 to $93.50 and data caps vary from 1 GB up to 100 GB, with validity periods between 3 and 31 days.
