See what travelers are saying about their Europe eSIM experience. Real feedback from real users to help you pick the best plan for your trip.
“Very good Experience”
“I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received. After only a few hours of use, my entire 10GB data package was already depleted, which is completely unacceptable and frankly impossible under normal circumstances.
This reflects very poorly on the company’s reliability and transparency. I did not pay for a service that fails so quickly and without any reasonable explanation.
I expect an immediate clarification and an appropriate resolution, as this level of service is unacceptable”
“Not bad
”
“reasonable prices, good connection. never lost connection before expiry date & time.”
“Awful. I don't know the reason but in 2 days the SIM just refused to connect to the network. After a week it connected again and worked fine for another 3 days but now it won't connect again. Awful experience, never experienced it with any other SIM card. Support is useless, and keeps asking the same questions over and over. I've purchased a SIM from another provider, and it's working fine.”
“Yeah. absultaly gorgeious and good.”
“I just bought an e-sim few minutes ago but I don’t know how to add it to my phone as I have not received the activation code
I am in the airplane right now to fly from Saudi Arabia to Barcelona”
“THE WORST SERVICE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
My experience was terrible. The eSIM would not activate when I first tried to use it. I was stranded without service for nearly a week. The company's only solution was a 70% refund for the inconvenience. A week lost!
Finally, a different agent stepped in, gave me the correct instructions, and I was able to use the service only after a full week.
The problem is, I had an urgent need for connectivity during that week and was forced to buy a new eSIM elsewhere.
Who will compensate me for the money I spent and the week of stress and lost time? Why am I not being fully compensated for their failure? The usage warnings are completely inadequate. NEVER use this.”
“The esim worked great. It provided great connectivity where ever we went and great speeds too. The esim worked as soon as the flight landed and gave no problems throughout the trip.”
“Мошеники Scammers. They took my money but didn't earn any money from the internet.”
“I thought it's a large company but they never got back to me regarding the age limit issue. The network quality has been horrible too, even disconnections while i was navigating.”
“I like esimdb and use it for all my esims worldwide, for a long time now. I do wish the navigation would become easier. So in the main overview I want to see details of 1 esim, and not go to the overview of the provider where I need to manually find the esim I saw in the overview.
Also I wish I could filter by provider (which doesn't always match the provider that you actually get). Everything else is great!
Airgun shows it will have A1 as provider but it is Yettel.”
“Truly awful 3G speed on strong 5G towers in Amsterdam. I have excellent signal strength on my device, yet somehow my 300GB Europe eSIM from Airhub consistently produces 3Mpbs down and up. This strongly suggests rate limiting. Over several days it's like this with the only advice from Airhub support to restart the device, which does nothing.”
“11:10 inserted eSIM into the phone.
11:13 removed, and 215 MB out of 1 GB consumed. I go to check the data used:
System applications 545 KB, WhatsApp 24 KB, wallpaper carousel 10 KB, and Mi Browser 7 KB. Less than 600 KB in total.
215 MB compared to 600 KB is a big difference.”
“The eSIM Europe Unlimited Data didn’t work in Serbia — while it worked fine in other EU countries (Switzerland, Austria, and Germany).
I opened a ticket a week ago and still haven’t received any help.
Avoid this company’s SIMs. If they fail, good luck getting help — you’ll end up buying a new one somewhere else.”
“I ordered an eSim for Greece and it simply didn't work upon landing which is what I've come to expect after many similar purchases from other vendors. In my opinion no one should spend valuable time debugging such issues abroad so we simply ordered from a different vendor and everything worked right away. I asked Airhub for a refund and they didn't even reply to my request.”
“I paid, but never received the eSim.”
“Great price and data worked really well. I recommend”
“I bought 14 300GB eSIMs for Europe and they all stopped working when they reached 35GB. I filed a complaint with AirHub and they told me they didn't actually provide 300GB and only offered 35GB. I asked for a refund and they never gave it to me. That company is a scam. Stay away if you don't want to be scammed.
AIRHUB is a SCAM. They are thieves who steal your money and give you eSIMs with less GB than they offer.”
“It worked perfectly throughout Europe, the esim is easy to instal and instructions were clear”
“i bought an esim from SMARTLINE INC. using a card that i only used there, and after that i received attempts of fraud transactions.”
“Perfect!”
“Was on a cruise ship for these four countries (MSC world Europea). This plan has multiple network carriers per country so I was able to have coverage even while on the boat in the middle of the ocean because it was able to switch carriers so quickly. Plus I got the Europe + USA plan so I was able to use the remaining data at home instead of using my regular cellular plan.”
“I used Travel Gator’s eSIM during my UK trip and it worked great. Setup was fast, and I got connected in minutes. Coverage was strong in most places, with reliable 4G in cities and decent service even in rural areas. Customer support was quick and helpful when I had a question. Overall, a smooth and hassle-free way to stay connected without swapping SIM cards and carry heavy wifi device. I’d definitely use it again.”
“Bought two of their O2 50gb plans. One worked fairly well, the other refused to work in most of Spain. Nonexistent support. Poor performance. Would not buy again.”
Everything you need to know about using eSIMs in Europe
Europe features roughly 120 eSIM brands and more than 5, 600 prepaid data plans, offering a broad array of options that cater to a wide range of travel needs. The extensive selection enables travelers to pick a plan that best matches their itinerary.
There are several eSIM providers that offer unlimited data plans for Europe. Firsty, Yoho Mobile, Roamify, MicroEsim, Billion Connect, abesteSIM, Truely, Yesim, FairPlay, and esimzon all list unlimited data options. While the data is unlimited, most plans state that speed may be throttled; for instance, Firsty limits speeds to 256 kbps, whereas several others cap speeds at 5 Mbps. Prices for these unlimited plans range from free, as with Firsty, up to $44.71 for the most expensive option, and most others fall between $1.90 and $43.71. Validity periods vary from a single day up to 30 days, allowing travelers to match a plan’s duration with their itinerary.
Travel eSIM plans that include a phone number and SMS for Europe are available. The providers that offer such plans in the dataset are GlobaleSIM, Roamify, SimOptions, TravelKon, LinkeSIM, and MoreMins eSIM. Prices start around $5.50 USD for small data packages and rise to about $120.00 USD for the largest bundles, while validity periods range from 7 days to 90 days or more.
All of these providers include voice and SMS capabilities. GlobaleSIM’s plans use a +1 dialing code, which is not a European country code, so the phone number is foreign to Europe and the plan allows inbound and outbound voice calls but only inbound SMS. The other providers use European country codes (+33 for France, +420 for the Czech Republic, +34 for Spain, +44 for the United Kingdom, and +33 for linkeSIM’s France‑based number) and provide local phone numbers that support both inbound and outbound voice and SMS.
